The Implementation
Now that the timeline is in place, the project is ready to get underway! This stage varies depending on the scope of the project. It may involve painting walls, painting/staining furniture, customizing accessories, or hanging artwork. Or it may require contracting a painter or woodworker. Or doing some shopping. Every project is completely unique, so it’s hard to know what to expect until we’re in the midst of it!
Still, you have a choice to make as to WHO will be doing the work:
Implementation Cost
Based on participation from homeowner(s) and the project budget
Owner-Assisted Implementation
Complete Designer Implementation
Still, you have a choice to make as to WHO will be doing the work:
- Owner-Assisted Implementation. This option provides the gratification of seeing your work pay off. If you’re willing to use a little elbow grease, more of your project budget will be used on the space itself.
- Complete Designer Implementation. This option lends itself to the “oohs” and “aahs” of an unveiling upon completion by the designer. While your budget isn’t affected, you will receive slightly less “stuff” for your money.
Implementation Cost
Based on participation from homeowner(s) and the project budget
Owner-Assisted Implementation
- 60% of budget used to purchase “stuff” for your space
- 40% of budget reserved for labor & fees
- 20% of the purchase budget goes to Sarah as a design fee
- The 80% remaining is used to cover the cost of labor at a rate of $20/hour (any unused hours will not be charged; nor will overage).
Complete Designer Implementation
- 50% of budget used to purchase “stuff” for your space
- 50% of budget reserved for labor & fees
- The design fee remains the same rate as that of the owner-assisted implementation
- The remaining part of the 50% is used to cover the cost of labor at a rate of $20/hour (please note: Sarah may hire help, whose wages would then need to be covered).
